Oak Creek: Oak Creek is a city in Milwaukee County of Wisconsin state in United States Wisconsin: Wisconsin is one of the 50 states of United States, located in the north-central part of the country.
The place came in spotlight after a gunman killed 6 worshipers at a Sikh temple at Oak Creek in Wisconsin on 5 August 2012.The temple in Oak Creek was founded in October 1997 and has a congregation of 350 to 400 people.
An estimated 500000 or more Sikhs live in the United States. Since the attacks of September 11, 2001 by Islamist militants, Sikhs have sometimes been confused publicly with Muslims because of their turban headdress and beards. Sikh is the fifth-largest organized religion in the world, with more than 30 million followers.
